Course Description: Currently, Data Protection, is legislated by the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA). The DPA places obligations on organisations that use personal information and gives individuals certain rights. However, in Europe, EU institutions have paid attention to citizens’ demands for greater data protection. This course examines the enhanced requirements under this regulation, which must not be under-estimated for any organisation, however small, regardless of Brexit.
About the Presenter: Paul Harris, is a Solicitor who has specialised in corporate and commercial law for over 27 years. During this period, he has advised on the insolvency of a number of professional football clubs, the rescue of numerous manufacturing companies, professional service entities and Lloyds names. Paul has experience in defending directors for misfeasance and in disqualification proceedings. In addition, he advises extensively on corporate governance protocols. He is currently in house counsel for a software company in the Midlands.
He is a frequent lecturer on corporate law generally, corporate and personal insolvency issues, where he is known for his practical approach to insolvency and directors’ duties and responsibilities.
