Presented by Peter Herbert. 2 CPD Hours/Units

Course Description:

For accountants of organisations of all sizes, accounting for revenue can be challenging. The rules vary depending on the accounting regime you’re using, the figure is tax-sensitive (and thus one that has to be right!) and changes coming in with the FRS 102 periodic review create an additional level of complexity. This course will cover all the important requirements, with a particular focus on practical problems and how to resolve them. Topics covered will include:

  • How current accounting rules work in practice
  • Differentiating goods, services and construction contracts
  • Important disclosure requirements
  • What changes in 2026 – the impact of the FRS 102 ‘periodic review’
  • Identifying and allocating revenue to performance obligations
  • Tax implications of the 2026 changes
  • How the changes impact micro-entities applying FRS 105
